  Board Chair - Naima Cozier, MSPH
 
Ms. Cozier has 14 years of experience working in community health and behavioral sciences with an emphasis on HIV prevention and care. As Senior Consultant for John Snow, Inc. (JSI), Ms. Cozier works on national capacity building initiatives dedicated to the implementation and
adaptation of evidence based interventions, development of monitoring and evaluation plans, and enhancement of organizational infrastructure. Her capacity building portfolio includes working with community-based organizations to develop social media strategy, gender-responsive HIV/AIDS programs, and collective impact initiatives. Ms. Cozier began her public health career in New Orleans, Louisiana as Program Manager for a reproductive and sexual health organization where she served young African American and Latina women. Ms. Cozier holds a MSPH from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and a BS from Xavier University of Louisiana.
     

  Board Co-Chair - Mara Collins, LMFT
 
Mara Collins is a licensed marriage and family therapist in Atlanta, Georgia. Mara earned her Bachelor's degree at the Evergreen State College with an emphasis on art, and the politics of death dying. She earned her master's degree At Antioch University Seattle in child, couple and family therapy. She has been volunteering at Atlanta Harm
reduction since 2010. She joined the board in 2014 and now serves as the vice president. Mara practices harm reduction in her therapy practice, her community work and in everyday life.
     

  Board Treasurer - William Parker, COU, ChSC, AET
 
Mr. Parker is the President of ABG Financial Services, Inc., a registered investment advisory firm, and Author of “How Did You Get Here?” One Black Man’s Journey through White Corporate America. Mr. Parker’s career has included successful stints at Union Carbide Corporation, and Eastman Kodak Company, a long tenure which culminated as Sales
Promotion Manager for Kodak film in the United States and Canada. In this position he directed the successful launch of Kodacolor® 400 film. Subsequently, he worked for the E&J Gallo Winery as Brand Manager for E&J Brandy. Mr. Parker directed the highly successful new product launch for E&J Brandy. He served as President and CEO of The Marketing Forum, Inc. a successful advertising agency. He presided over the creative efforts of this organization resulting in the agency being awarded the very prestigious Communications Excellence in Black Advertising Award “CEBA. He is the recipient of many industry and community awards attesting to his skills and success as a motivator and leader in the financial services business. Mr. Parker holds a number of trademarks related to financial planning products and services. Mr. Parker has held a variety of community and business leadership positions such as President of the Atlanta Chapter of The Society for Financial Service Professionals; Past President of the Atlanta Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors; Past Chairman of the African American Advisory Committee to the President of the American College; past National Board Member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals; and a former board member of The Galloway Schools. He a member of The Midtown Atlanta Rotary Club; a life member of The Million Dollar Roundtable, a member of the Cascade United Methodist Church; member of the Cobb County (GA) chamber of commerce; member of the Cobb County Transit Advisory Board; and President of the Terrell Mill Community Association.
     

  Board Secretary - Marla Renee Stewart, MA
 
Marla Renee Stewart, MA is a lecturer at Clayton State University and a co-founder of the Sex Down South Conference. She is a sexologist, a professional sex, intimacy and relationship coach and sexuality educator. Gaining her reputation for being “The Sex Architect,” she created Velvet Lips, a sexuality education company, to empower people of all ages to embrace, educate and enjoy their sexuality and
their sexual lives. She has studied human sexuality for more than 15 years at San Francisco State University and Georgia State University, respectively, and has expert knowledge in a wide variety of subjects. She has published academic articles and continues to do sexuality research. She has conducted workshops at conferences, not-for-profit and private organizations, as well as universities in the Atlanta area. She has been featured on many radio shows, documentaries, books, magazines and has been invited to speak at Universities around the country. In addition to being on the board of the Atlanta Harm Reduction Coalition, she also sits on the board for SPARK Reproductive Justice NOW!
     

 
     

 
General Member - Lauren Canary, MPH
 
Lauren Canary is an epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She comes to AHRC with over 5 years of experience in the field of HIV and viral hepatitis prevention. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and her master of public health degree in epidemiology, with a certificate in mental health, from Emory University Rollins
School of Public Health in Atlanta, GA. Having initially served AHRC as a harm reduction and HIV/HCV testing volunteer, she is committed to reducing stigma around addiction and promoting health in underserved communities in Atlanta.
